The Independent Networks Co-operative Association (INCA) has announced a shortlist of potential finalists for their forthcoming 2022 awards event, which aims to recognise and celebrate the best alternative broadband networks (altnets) and ISPs from across the United Kingdom.

Some operators, such as B4RN and Truespeed, have been nominated across several different categories. The winners will then be decided by a panel of five independent industry judges (here), who are already in the process of reviewing and discussing all of the nominations.

The award winners under each category will be announced at INCA’s forthcoming special Awards Dinner, which will be held on the night of November 16th in Liverpool, as part of their Annual Conference.

How many independent associations giving these awards we currently have in the UK? As far as I can remember this is second or third in this year.

That’d be because they’re all a load of garbage. It’s just some industry back-slapping so they can stick an award on the website and it makes it look sexy for the marketing team.

Guessing the small players didn’t like the big boys always winning on their made up awards to made a small made up award for themselves.

To be fair, INCA have been around for a while, and if it weren’t for these smaller players, there wouldn’t be anywhere near the full fibre coverage there is today.

    3. Avatar photo John says:

HullLad: I thought we have full fibre coverage because of vouchers and investors money not INCA or any other association established to burn money.

There’s seriously a net zero category and for some reason there are only 2 options in it

One can claim they are creating more Greta Thunbergs and the other can claim they are closer to net zero because they barely rolled out

Q Chris, she who worships B4RN

    1. Avatar photo Matt says:

BT isn’t mentioned so CC might not appear.

Are they all INCA members? I’ve not checked but I’d bet a quid that the winners certainly will be. All marketing bs and a complete waste of time
