Sky (Sky Broadband, Sky TV etc.) has today followed up on last month’s announcement, which revealed their plans for combining Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max and Hayu into a single subscription (here), by confirmed that customers can – from today – enjoy Disney+ as part of their Sky TV subscription.
“Worth £5.99 a month, eligible new and existing customers will get easy access to Disney+ Standard with Ads or the same saving on Standard and Premium“, said Sky, while reminding that new customers will soon be able to also get Disney+, Netflix, as well as HBO Max (from 26th March) and Hayu (from July) with Sky Ultimate TV from £24 a month.
Apparently, Sky Stream and Sky Glass customers with Ultimate TV, as well as Sky Q customers, and Sky Essential TV customers with Sky Cinema, can sign up simply by using the “Get Disney+” voice command and then following the on-screen steps, or via Sky’s website.

Sky customers with existing Disney+ subscriptions can move their current ‘Standard with Ads’, ‘Standard’ or ‘Premium’ plans to Sky, saving £5.99 a month, while keeping their profile and watch history. Customers can also choose to upgrade from Disney+ Standard with Ads to Standard or Premium, just paying the difference.
Sky Cinema customers will also get a new Disney+ Cinema channel, a collection of popular movies from Disney+ to showcase the content of the full Disney+ app experience. This is launching on EPG channel 305. As usual, all the new Disney+ content from today’s announcement will propagate through Sky OS in the usual ways, supported by voice commands, ‘Continue Watching’ features and so forth.

It does not include TV Essential customers on SkyQ as per their FAQ:
“Which Disney+ plan is included with Sky TV? Disney+ Standard with Ads will be included for new and existing Sky Ultimate TV and all Sky Q customers (except TV Essentials and Sky Basics).”
TV Essentials does not include Disney+
But, as the article mentions, some (not all) Sky Essential TV packages do include Disney+, specifically Sky Essential TV (with Cinema) – see https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Sky-TV/Your-Sky-TV-just-got-even-better-with-Disney/ba-p/5233029 for the full list of packages.

Just logged into my Sky account it was very simple to add on. Good to see another freebie add on from Sky
not free. I got an email a week ago from sky, they said that my contract will be increasing by £1.50 for disney+ and hbo max.
Sky must be getting desperate to keep people, the reason most people use Sky is for sport, so for those people who have no interest in sport or want to pay the silly prices, Sky have to get them on board.
Had sky years ago for 12 months, I can’t see myself doing it again, for a start need a TV licence and prefer not to support the BBC.

Too polish a turd one might say.
