The ITS Technology Group, which has deployed various open access and business-focused Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP / XGS-PON) broadband ISP and Ethernet networks across parts of the UK, has today announced that 9 of the 13 new full fibre deployment locations (towns and cities) they announced earlier this year have started to go live for customers.
Just to recap. Back in June 2026 ITS revealed the “next phase” of investment in its national network, which included a plan to expand their high-capacity fibre network to reach businesses in Coventry, Huddersfield, Loughborough, Aberdeen, Bath, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Chester, Edinburgh, Exeter, Plymouth, Southampton and Swansea – these were due to go live in phases between July and October 2026.
The provider has today confirmed that the first nine locations, including Aberdeen, Bath, Bournemouth, Chester, Coventry, Huddersfield, Loughborough, Plymouth and Swansea, are now Ready for Service (RFS). Meanwhile, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Exeter, and Southampton are due to follow by the end of the year.

The rollout has naturally been focused on “commercially dense areas“, which is said to reflect the way business connectivity needs are changing, with organisations looking for services that can flex around different sites, applications, resilience and security requirements.
Dave Ferry, Chief Sales Officer at ITS, said:
“Bringing these locations live is about turning footprint into opportunity for our channel partners. They can now take business-grade connectivity into more towns and cities, and use it as the access layer for the wider services their customers need.
We are seeing the market move beyond a simple broadband or Ethernet decision. More businesses want premium connectivity options such as Ethernet-over-FTTP, multiple services into the same site, or managed bundles that bring resilience, security and performance together in a way that fits how they operate.
This is where the channel creates real value. Our role is to make sure partners have the network, product choice and service experience behind them, so they can compete with stronger propositions in the places their customers need them to be.”
What’s less clear is precisely how much ITS Technology have invested into this expansion and how many premises are being passed by the new infrastructure. The operator’s XGS-PON based full fibre network was last year said to “pass” more than 465,000 UK businesses (inc. commercial premises), and they often claim to “reach the rest” through their trusted operator partners’ infrastructure, which includes the likes of BTWholesale, Sky, PXC and VirginMedia Business.

Their “trusted partner” being Zen’s Fibre Hub, hardly a big secret.
Yes, ITS premises passed always been a bit smoke and mirrors. Often raise orders that get abandoned!
